How on-Duty Pharmacies Work in Turkey
- Pharmacies (eczane) are marked with a red E sign.
- Some medicines are sold only with a prescription, and controlled substances need a physical prescription.
- The on-duty pharmacy may be in a neighbouring district, so a taxi can be useful at night.
- A rota decides which pharmacy in each district stays open overnight, on Sundays and on public holidays. This is the on-duty pharmacy.
- At night you may need to ring a bell or knock, as the on-duty pharmacy frequently serves through a small window.
