Unwell on holiday in Turkey? Here is how to get medical help quickly, from video visits to hotel visits and emergencies.

Falling ill on holiday is stressful, but help is easier to reach than most travellers expect. Depending on where you are, you can choose a video visit, a visit to a doctor’s office or, in selected areas, a doctor visit to your hotel or villa.

Start with the problem. For common illnesses such as tummy bugs, urinary infections, colds, ear pain or sunburn, a video consultation is often enough, and your doctor can send an e-prescription for a local pharmacy. For injuries, severe pain, chest pain or difficulty breathing, go to a hospital or call 112.

Before you ask for an appointment, gather your travel insurance details, a list of your regular medicines and, if possible, a photo of the packaging. If you are insured, message us on WhatsApp before the visit, and keep the invoice and prescription you receive, because your insurer may ask for them.
